Agape4GondorReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/6/2006
I have been wanting to read this forever, but have not had the opportunity. It's going to take me awhile, but I can tell, from this magnificent first chapter, it will be worth the time!

Author Reply: Hi there, Agape4Gondor, and thank you so much for your comment! I am very happy to read that you enjoy it so far, and hope of course that the rest will deliver as well.

Oh dear! But Eomer will survive, I am sure--and I look forward to seeing him overcome his foul steed!

Author Reply: Hi Dreamflower,

sorry it took me so long to reply; RL has my butt firmly in its grasp these weeks. :-P

But thanks so much for your comment! I hope you are still with me (and Éomer... and Aragorn... and all the others), as the story is inevitably nearing its showdown now... :-)

Best,
Katzilla

Ah, I am catching up here where I left off at the MEFAs! And here's an answer to *one* of my pressing questions--Gandalf has finally arrived! Perhaps we will soon learn what happened to the timeline! And I look forward to seeing Merry and Pippin as well.

This was a very exciting battle, and a fascinating alternative to the battle at Helm's Deep!

Author Reply: Once again, I can only apologize that it takes me so long these days to say my "Thank you's" for yur comments, but please know that they are VERY MUCH appreciated! That battle didn't go easy not only for the Rohirrim...(wipes brow)

Yikes! Another cliffy and it looks like Eomer is really done for this time--or will he somehow survive the maelstrom which has engulfed Isengard?

The entire battle was extremely well written and the arrival of the Ents was almost as exciting as watching ROTK! I could easily visualise the panic of the orcs and men alike and your Ents seemed more wild than I would have imagined them being.Boy, they were mad!!

The arrival of Gandalf was thrilling and his friends really need his help now that the river has been unleashed.Where are Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli in all the torrent and how will Gandalf control the Ents' rage.I'm dying to read more!

Sorry that I haven't reviewed more of your wonderful story but I have been following each chapter with much eagerness.I'm really looking forward to the next chapter.Update soon!

Author Reply: Hi Alison,

so sorry I couldn't reply earlier to your wonderful comment, but please know that it is MUCH appreciated!!! :o) I'm glad you enjoy my story, even if it is quite dark. And I'M also glad to hear that you enjoyed the fight scenes, as I had a bloody hard time writing them. :-P Yeah, wild ents and elves, whoo-hoo! I don't do 'docile', that's for sure, and if a raging tree attacked, I'd figure the results would be pretty horrific. Unfortunately, the Rohirrim did not manage to get entirely out of their way, and now they've got to deal with the consequences.

Thanks so much for your comment, and I hope to hear from you again.

Best wishes,
Katzilla

Liked the bit about the armour -original.LBJ

Author Reply: Hi Sidonie,

thanks for your comment. I could so well imagine the look on Éomer's face when Erkenbrand gave him the sword and the armour... *sigh*

Well, that is what fanfiction is for, right? To create the scenes we would have liked to see in the movie.

Very moving and well written. I like the horse bits - have you been talking to Maddy again? BTW I think Aragorn winked - not blinked. LBJ

Author Reply: Whoops... hehe... sorry there. Thanks for catching it! I must apologize that I did not get around to responding to your earlier review, but RL had been pretty hard on me for these past three weeks, which is also why this chapter took so long to post.

I'm very happy though to find that you are still with me. And yes, I have been talking to Maddy, but not about Firefoot. That grey demon is entirely my own creation. Éomer sure got his hands full with his horse alone, eh?

Looking forward to hearing from you again,
katja

Very rousing - I love a bit of bravery and loyalty! LBJ

Wacko! The calvary arrived - just like in all the best stories.LBJ

Author Reply: Yes, they are handy, these guys. Let's face it, they needed to appear, because it would have been unrealistic for our brave, but few warriors to best over 40 Uruks all by themselves... and I think there would be a hitman on my tracks now had I followed down a "realistic" ending to this scenario (plus the story would basically be over. Bummer!).

Goodness, I can only hope that you haven't completley changed the plot line. You must have got worn out - writing all this action.LBJ

Author Reply: Hi Sidonie,

sorry that it took me so long to reply, it was due to a rather frentic bout of RL (of course... what else is new, LOL!).

While I agree whole-heartedly that writing such extensive action scenes can some be a real chore (although I like writing action), it really flowed in this chapter. I guess the important thing is to be able to visualize it; otherwise you'll be lost.

And by now you know that my willingness to explore the AU has limits, too, LOL! Isn't that just a load of your mind?

Thanks for popping in!

Katzilla
