What an interesting idea! I love the morgul blade and stories on how it affected the Ring-bearer and it is interesting getting this in the Witch-king's point of view. I't so spooky! i look forward to reading more. Keep going with writing this, Janet! I enjoy this muchly! looking forward to the h/c :D

Author Reply: Thank you, sweet friend! I enjoy 'spooky' as long as there's lots of healing and comfort and hobbity-ness on the other side of it. What a joy to be writing a new tale.

That was so exciting. I think in trying to recall the words, Sam nearly fell under their spell. I hope Glorfindel is very careful if he tries to use Sam to find out what was said. This is very good. Can't wait for more of it.

Author Reply: Thank you. Yes, they're going to have to use delicate means to coax that spell out of Sam without harming him.

Oh, really scary atmosphere! This chapter gives the readers uneasy feeling...

Author Reply: It's interesting to imagine things happening slightly differently during the Ford encounter. Thank you for reading.

Oh my! Poor Sam-- just trying to remember the Black Speech makes him sick.

And poor Aragorn, who has no idea what just happened to him. Thank goodness Glorfindel seems to be alert to possible danger.

Author Reply: And poor Glorfindel, who couldn't be everywhere at once! Dear Sam with his excellent memory... he'll have to be handled gently if those dark words are to be coaxed out.

How nice to see another chapter - the suspense mounts. That's going to be dangerous if Sam remembers those words...and as someone else pointed out, Gandalf's words at the Council though if Sam does say such things or Frodo mumbles something and disaster strikes, Gandalf doesn't have to say anything...dear me...dear me... I do love having you back, my dear!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I love *being* back, my friend. Thank you. Now there's so much potential for that Black Speech to be heard in Rivendell! We'll have to wait and see what happens. :)

Ah, good, at least Glorfindel senses that there is something wrong and he has some idea of how to find out, now if only Sam can remember what was said!?

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Ahhhh... there are ways! Thank you so much for reading, Lynda.

How delightful my dear to see another tale from you, and surprisingly angsty too! This is a great beginning and I certainly look forward to more!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :) *hugs*

Author Reply: Thank you, Antane! You know I'll find a way to weave in the hobbity lightness I love so much. *hugs you back*

Oooh, what a terrible beginning. And I mean that in a good way, Shirebound. LOL! Excellent! Can't wait to see what you end up doing to Aragorn, as if he doesn't have enough on his plate, poor boy. Glad to see you back. Your stories are always a delight.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Fiondil. It's good to *be* back! I'm very happy to be writing again.

So glad to see you writing again. A very suspenseful and tense opening indeed.

Author Reply: Thank you, my friend. The Professor went to all that trouble of bringing the knife hilt into the story, but left it to us to figure out what to do with it.
