| WOOT! I saw this while doing my usual Saturday SOA check and wow---I was shocked to see it and so pleasantly surprised! I've been looking forward to this for a very long time, and it's wonderful to see it not only for the story itself, but well, it's just very exciting to have a new Shirebound story! This really is a brilliant idea here. I love it when authors take small, seemingly insignificant statements out of the books and turn them into stories and "what might have beens." Because of course Glorfindel would not have given Aragorn such a warning unless there was, indeed, a danger. This was a very chilling first chapter... just perfect. It certainly shows us how evil the wraiths were, and of course, a bit more of their sorcery---we don't see too much of that in the books and I'm positive the wraiths were capable of some very terrible, terrible things. Oh, I'm so looking forward to more! You can't imagine. Author Reply: Lily, you know how long I've been dying to start this story! I just have to take it slow and easy. I'm excited to finally post the beginning, and dive back into all the notes I've scribbled. Bless the Professor for all the details he gave us to play with. | Wow! What a beginning! Of course we all know that someone will use the Black Speech (Gandalf) and that Elrond will be very angry about him doing so. But to think that it could be the "trigger" of Dark Magic! Oh my! On the other hand ... this IS a Shirebound Story :-) (Or have you changed your attitude?)
