Elf Academy Part Deux  by Fiondil 16 Review(s)

seeing people on very old photos can be disturbing for some one not knowing and destroys the little trust Alex has maybe gathered. He is doing what he can best: use his job to gather reliable information - or so he thinks. To gather his loyalty it will be necessary to induct him into their secret - or so I hope. Lai

Author Reply: Very true, Lai. We will see what happens when the Elves let him in on their secret. That knowledge will change everything for Alex for good or for ill. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

So, the shady world of espionage invaded again. Alex was on such a nice trajectory and now he slides back. I think he will get a nasty surprise. He doesn't know what he is dealing with. Who put that envelope at his door? There has to be someone close by. What if Derek had shown up first?

Bugging the mansion of the elves might not be such a bright idea. He obviously was watched, so I hope the elves know about this and can deal with it.

Author Reply: Hi obsidianj. Unfortunately, Alex is first and foremost a spy and so he's acting accordingly. And if Derek had shown up first, he would've just put the package on Alex's desk and not think anymore about it. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

I really wonder who is in charge of the movie nights at the Academy. They seem as spot on as they were in the first story!

It has for some reason been hard to start reviewing this one, but this lurker should be back now. :) This story has turned out well, and I especially loved Daeron's singing in the earlier chapter.

Author Reply: Hi Siiw. I'm gald you are enjoying this story, especially Daeron singing. And I have no idea who's in charge of the movie nights, but they seem to know just what movie should be shown, don't they? *grin* Thanks for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.

If Alex knew who he was dealing with, he would not have been so cocky. Of course the elves knew he was there.

Why has no one told him the truth about the elves anyway? Surely it is no big secret. He must be the only one who doesn't know.

Author Reply: Hi Tari. As I said in response to your last review, only certain people know about the Elves. Alex isn't the only one in the dark about them. None of the students presently taking the classes are aware that some of the instructors are Elves. Eventually, some of them wil be told as they are recruited for the larger purpose of preparing for the Final Battle, whenever that might occur. I hope that clears things up for you. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate you do so very much.

A great chapter! I really enjoyed when Alex saw the contents of the envelope and decided to bug Edhellond... Things are getting even more interesting! Poor spy, he doesn't have a clue how difficult a mission this is; no matter how good he is at his work, there are elves who are even better than he.

Author Reply: Hi someone. I'm glad you really liked this chapter, especially the part with Alex going through the envelope and then deciding to bug Edhellond. And you're right, the poor guy hasn't a clue just how difficult an assignment he's been given. Nothing is as it seems, and that's the first lesson of espionage, which he has apparently forgotten. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it very much.

Atto,

Aha, so Alex is interested in Nicole, is he? But if she's already got a boyfriend...lol. I see trouble ahead.

Also, I wonder what's going to happen with that electronic bugging he did...somehow I don't expect Alex will get away scot-free on that count, Atto.

And Caleb is still adorable and I still want to keep him. Or at least borrow him. =)

Tye-melin!

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. There may be trouble ahead. We'll just have to wait and see. And we'll see what the Elves do with regards to the bugging in the next chapter. As you guess, Alex won't get away with it completely.

Thanks for commenting, Kaylee. Tye-melin.

Oops, that review wasn't finished yet! I'm sorry, I'm working on a laptop and I must have accidentally pressed enter or brushed against the touchpad.

As I was saying, I can't believe Alex went and did that! I am so glad it didn't go unnoticed. Hopefully this will drive Amroth to confront his student-gone-awry, and soon.

I loved the historical references, despite the problems they create for the elves! It's hard to imagine just how much they have experienced over the ages. "Seeing" it in relation to "real" events makes it easier to grasp.

Author Reply: No problem, Lisbeth. These things happen. I've taken the liberty to remove the other review since it was incomplete. We will see what steps are taken by the Elves now that Alex has made a move. I'm glad you liked the historical references. It was fun to imagine what certain Elves were doing in earlier eras and how they may have blended in. Thanks for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate it very much.

He has a lot to learn about the abilities of his teachers, doesn't he? Heh!

Seeing one of his teachers standing next to Howard Carter must have been quite a shock! And love that Glorfindel and the twins were all medics during WWII. Suits them well!

Author Reply: He certainly does, Larner, and learn he will, eventually. Thanks for commenting. It's much appreciated.

Maybe Alex should read ahead in his history book, too, he might encounter some familiar names ... ;)

Alex interested in Nicole? *raises eyebrow* Now that would be a surprising turn of events. And maybe a good excuse for Alex to quit his old job and get a new one around the Academy, if he comes to his senses.

Now I am wondering if that movie holds some foreshadowing for Alex. I get the feeling he's not that happy as a spy any longer and would be much happier to stay in Wiseman, really.

That envelope certainly proved interesting! I'm beginning to feel sorry for Alex, this is just too confusing for him! I guess if they found one of them on such an old photo, that could maybe be explained with an unusually close family similarity, but three of them at the same time? No way. Can't wait to find out what conclusions he's going to draw from that when he's over his shock.

During Alex's time in the garden, I was always waiting for one of the Elves to show up and just surprise him. Well, they didn't, but obviously they still watched him. Somehow I would have been surprised if they hadn't noticed that there was someone who wasn't supposed to be there. I wonder if that will finally kick Amroth into action?

Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Maybe he should. *grin*

As for Alex and Nicole... we'll have to see. As Caleb pointed out, she does have a boyfriend already.

And the movie may have some foreshadowing for Alex but that remains to be seen.

We'll see in the next chapter what the Elves do with regards to the electronic bugging and Alex.

Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

Hi Fiondil. I just wanted to let you know that I still read every word you write--well at least everything you post here, though I don't always have time to comment. I appreciate your dependable updates--they really make my day, and I know I'm not alone in saying they have brightened many a dull or worrisome day for me.

I'm enjoying the developments so far in EA2. But what I'm dying to know is this. Who left the envelope? Who dunnit?! Friday can't come soon enough, though I know that doesn't mean I'll get the answer to my question. You're a master at getting a reader hooked--but I know you will reveal all in time. I just need to cultivate some [more] patience!

Author Reply: Hi njomo. I'm glad you are enjoying the developments of this story. As for who left the envelope, that will probably remain a mystery. Remember, Alex's boss said she would have other agents in the area, so any of them could've been the messenger. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it and I look forward to any reviews you are able to leave in the future.
