Elf Academy Part Deux  by Fiondil 16 Review(s)

Well - so, Artemus took over again. Too sad. And I was getting hopes for him and Nicole Lord! :( But I guess, once a spy, always a spy - unless Ilúvatar has different plans for him.

And now I'm burning with curiosity who Barry Underwood might be.

Author Reply: Hi Soledad. Yes, well, he is a spy, after all, As for him and Nicole... most likely not, since Nicole already has a boyfriend, but you never know. Stranger things have happened)

And Barry Underwood is of course Barahir, one of the Sindarin Elves who showed up in Wiseman at the end of part one.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Alex/Artemus does seem to have an affinity for trees, I wonder if they have affected him before or is it just since he came to E.A.?

How come Alex just got the raw data and not an analysis of it, or does he prefer to do his own research? Somebody must have done a lot of digging to find those photos, way to go internet, it does have some uses. (Apart from Fan Fic!)

So Alex has gone into spy mode has he, he's going to try spying on the Elves is he, I think this is a 'Go teach your Grandmother to suck eggss' kind of situation, Elves, or some of them, being the best scouts/spys out ther! They know exactly where that bug is, all they have to do is speak in Quenya and he is going to be totally lost!

This is coming along nicely.

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. I think Alex just got the raw data because he prefers to do the analysis himself and actually, none of the data would make sense to someone in D.C. who wasn't right there dealing with these people. At any rate, Alex will be disappointed in his efforts to actually figure out what's going on as we will see. I'm glad you are enjoying this story. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

Loved this chapter. Good background on various elves. Don't know the date you had in mind for Glorfindel's time in California, but I would love to see a drawing, the more explicit the better, of him as a 1960's golden surfer dude! I am sure the bikini babes al had good dreams. Alex and Nichole? Like it.

Author Reply: Hi UTfrog. I'm glad you love the chapter and the background on some of the Elves. And I'm afraid you'll have to use your own imagination with regards to Glorfindel being a glden surfer dude. LOL! Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

That package of photos certainly blew Alex' mind! So he has decided to take action. _Sneaking_ into Edhellond to plant bugs, whose inhabitants have much sharper senses than him, and any of whom have _forgotten_ more about sneaking than Alex has ever dreamed there would be to that subject! If this doesn't prod Amroth into action, I don't know what will! (Not that Alex would have known that any of them - except for Amroth, of course - were such experts on sneaky stuff. But there you go...) *smirks*

So you have Glorfindel and the Twins were in the medical branch of the Army during WW2. Makes sense - none of the Elves would have wanted to be caught up in human squabbles. The pressure for any able-bodied male to join up during that time would have been very great, so the three of them decided on a military branch that would have let them do something constructive and save lives instead of killing. Excellent logic here, Fiondil!

And has Cupid done a bit of target-shooting here? If Alex gets his head straightened out, I do think a family would be good for him. :-)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Well, as you say, he doesn't know he's up against people who have had millennia of experience being sneaky, so we have to make allowances. *grin*

And it seemed logical that Glorfindel and the Twins would've wanted to help in the war in some manner even if they decided not to join in the battles themselves and being part of the army medical corps was a logical decision on their part.

As for Cupid... we'll have to see. For Alex, it's not an option at this time, but you never know.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. It's very much appreciated.

Yes, our modern age of photographs make the life of an immortal a bit more fraught with problems. I love the fact that you had one of the group at King Tut's tomb, and having Glorfindel with the Twins in the medical corp in WWII - I seem to recall that glossed over before in an earlier chapter, perhaps in EA1. I breathed a sigh of relief to know that what Alex did was noted, although I figured that in some fashion the inhabitants of the house would have been told. Thanks for starting my week out on a high note.

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. It does make things dicier for Elves living in the modern world and I'm having fun in finding ways to make things tougher for them than it would've been centuries earlier. *grin* I'm glad this chapter gave you a lift. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I appreciate it very much.

Oh Alex! Many small steps forward now one ginormous leap back. You make me so sad. But I am also wondering about the accreditation inspection that is still looming.

Author Reply: Hi harrowcat. Yes, Alex does seem to be going backsliding a bit. We'll see what happens with the accreditation inspection beginning with the next chapter. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.
