Back to Middle Earth BINGO  by Dreamflower 63 Review(s)

I so love this, Dreamflower. But I love seeing anyone appreciating the true worth of Bilbo, Frodo, or about any Hobbit one might mention.

Author Reply: So do I. It's fun to see the Big Folk reassessing their first impression of this seemingly timid little people and realizing just how "tough in the fibre" they really are.

First it was Imrahil and Denethor, and now Bilbo and Saradoc competing to see how they can use the children to inflict auditory misery on one another. Thanks for the giggles!

I so laughed to see this part of my teenage days revisited! And love the fascination between Frodo and Geranium that ends so abruptly when food is introduced!

Author Reply: Yes, well with those blue eyes, Frodo was the obvious choice for "Davy". I had to have him fall in love-- but then fall out just as quickly as Davy always did, LOL!

I can well believe that Frodo and Sam are feeling overwhelmed, and am glad that newly recovered Pippin is resting before he begins serving his lord. Well done!

Author Reply: Well, in a way, this was a gapfiller for my own gapfiller, "Kingly Gifts", so naturally Pippin was resting. Thanks!

Oh, yes. I'm sure there were many of those episodes.

Saruman in the last ficlet I didn't feel too sorry for, but ... just Poor Sméagol, here. Poor haunted Sméagol.

Thanks for all the ficlets. Gotta go prune apple trees.... I'm sure it's easier for elves....

Ugh! Suitably and thoroughly nasty, and deluding himself to the last.

Hm. I wonder what they did with all the cut bits? That could be a whole series of dwarven ficlets....

It was nearly three years before he presented the Arkenstone, the Heart of the Mountain, to his King. -- And how much of that three years did Borin simply gaze at it, too enrapt to think straight enough to plan its cutting? And how often did Thráin visit to get a glimpse of it? (Maybe Thráin even took it back to his quarters occasionally, to spend more time with it ... week-long, month-long visits....)

Truly Bilbo was remarkable.

As for the Arkenstone ... Thrain's tomb was the best place for it.

Author Reply: He was indeed a most remarkable hobbit.

And as for the Arkenstone: I agree.

I remember the Monkees; I loved their show when I was a kid; and though Mickey was my favorite; I liked Davy too. How fast the time goes; it's hard to believe that he's gone.

A charming tribute to a fantastic foursome - hey, hey, indeed!

Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoyed this piece. It is so hard to believe he's gone.

I had fun writing this little farce!

Hay! Hay! It's the Hobbits,
And people say they Hobbit around,
But there too busy eating
To put anybody down!

Hay! Hay! You're the author
And you do a marvelous job
Of writing these Hobbits stories
With a reasonable plot!

Sorry, that last line dosen't quite scan but you get the idea!

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: *grin* Thanks!
