Be at peace Fiondil. You made many people happy with your vision of the Professor's work. And now, perhaps you will find him and the two of you will have discussions about his work. That would be such joy for you. You will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear the news. Thank you for telling us. I was worried too, when the new chapter did not come up. I'm praying for you all. :(

Thank you again for the news.

I am sorry to hear that we have lost a writer who pulled us into the world of Tolkien and made us think of how mortals must appear to other beings. I had worried about the interruption in the story on Monday but thought it was just the snow storm knocking out the internet. I have not seen until any other news until I logged on here this afternoon to SoA. My prayers go to the family in their time of sorrow and to friends that are reeling from the news. May the songs of the elves forever sing in his soul.

This was truly sad news! I love Fiondil's fics, they are well written by a person who obviously loved Tolkien.

He will be missed!

Fiondil, my dear, dear friend. You will be most sorely missed. You were a staunch friend, a wise counselor, a prudent scholar, and had a wonderful sense of humor alongside a deep, abiding respect for the works of Tolkien. I followed your works for many years, we corresponded and exchanged queries now and again, and I find myself fighting back the tears, even though I know your legacy is firm in my heart. I already miss your wise counsel.

I have not yet worked up the courage to actually read the posted chapters, as I am at present sitting at work trying to digest this terrible news & not burst into tears. while I suppose I cam rather late to Fiondil's work compared to some of you who have been in communication with one another for years, I will miss his stories no less & am all the more grateful to have found them. Thank you, kind Sir, for your wonderful work and your reponses to my reviews. Would that I could have known you better.

Hugs to all

I feared exactly something like this had happened when all remained silent, although, I too, was hoping for a power loss at first.

I find myself crying over the loss of someone of whom I only know the nickname, crying more than I've been doing for people I've actually known.

Fiondil, thank you for all your stories that had to love of so many people. Thank you for always replying to our comments, it was greatly appreciated from our sides as well.
Thank you for your wonderful expansion to Tolkien's world you so eagerly and frequently shared with us, your lovely divine undertone in their works and lately for letting the concept of modern world Elves into our hearts.
I hope meeting lord Námo and eventually Atar for real was a calm and blessfull experience for you.

Ellie and Alassiel, thanks for updating on us, Nilmandra thanks for posting. I hope you wil be able to share as much of what is left of Fiondil's legacy with us as possible.

Last of all, I wanted to give everyone here a big hug!

My commiserations. Now I wished I had written a review for him to know that he has a big fan of his work from Malaysia. Too late now. May your soul rest in peace, mellon nin. Hannon le for all your wonderful stories over the years and I am sure Tolkien would have approved tremendously of your continued effort to bring to life his world of Middle Earth.

Once again a big heartfelt thank you from Malaysia. May your soul rest in peace, Fiondil. God bless.Amen

Eternal Rest grant unto him, Oh Lord, and
Let Perpetual Light shine upon him.

Fiondil was a dear friend and a beloved member of my family of the heart since I "met" him online in 2007. Besides reading his stories here on SoA, I would Skype with him and join him, my sister and other readers and writers to discuss Tolkien once a week via a Skype conference call while he was living in China. I finally got to meet him in person during a Mini-Moot at he Columbus Zoo a couple of years later.

I will miss him dearly. Since I didn't know how to contact his family and wasn't sure how he felt about flowers I made a donation to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

I am now going ot go back and read the last two chapters again since it was hard to read through my tears. Thank you, Ellie and Alassiel, for sharing the rest of the story.

Edlyn
