In most fanfics Rosie Gamgee is portrayed as the perfect mother of thirteen children... but sometimes even the best mother needs some help and has to be reminded that she's still a lover, too. |

| This story was originally written as a part of my Before I go to sleep-universe, a saga that tells the (AU)-love story between Frodo Baggins and the young midwife Lily Proudfoot. But it focuses mainly on Merry Brandybuck, and it stands pretty well on its own. When Merry is in Hobbiton and helps with the haymaking, he meets a beautiful redhead and tries to steal a kiss. This leads to surprising revelations, some childhood memories... and a Midsummer Dance where Merry doesn't dance at all. |
