Tolkien quote of the day:

But when Aragorn arose all that beheld him gazed in silence, for it seemed to them that he was revealed to them now for the first time. Tall as the sea-kings of old, he stood above all that were near; ancient of days he seemed and yet in the flower of manhood; and wisdom sat upon his brow, and strength and healing were in his hands, and a light was about him. And then Faramir cried: ‘Behold the King!’

For Socrates399, as a reward for knowing obscure Dickensian characters whose last names make their way into my fan-fiction. She requested something about Frodo and Sam.

I duly complied with this semi-humorous tale about the difficulties of readjusting to living with someone you haven't seen in years.

bullet Fragments of a love story by Nesta Last Updated: 3/22/2009
Fans have endowed Faramir with lots of imaginary families, and this is mine. There's Elboron of course, and then a daughter called Fíriel - the heroine of this story - and then Túrin, who is an oddball. 'Fragments' because the story isn't really complete - but that's just how it turned out.

bullet What's in a Name? by Lissas Elves Last Updated: 3/21/2009
A bit of light reading on a grey day... The following are not chapters of a story, but independent (and slightly irreverent) ficlets about the meaning of certain Noldorin names, as explained by Darth Fingon in his 'Linguistic Foolery' on SWG. The first: a meeting - inspired by one of Oshun's icons. The second: an interesting phenomenon - inspired by Rhapsody the Bard. The third (now added): a bored teenager gets himself into trouble. Thanks to Calenlass Greenleaf for betaing!
