Oh, very nice, Dreamflower! And so romantic; it fits the Faramir/Eowyn relationship (at that time) very well.

Author Reply: Thanks! I love the Faramir/Eowyn pairing, and it was fun to get the chance to write of it!

I love this one of all the couples you wrote out. Love that man!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Thank you very much!

I am enjoying the "Canon Couples" card, and very much hope that more of the numbers for that one will be called. I may even go on to write of some of them after the month is over.

I begin the day at SoA. This morning the next place I went was GardenWeb.

So IMMEDIATELY after I read your four dribbles, the first thing I saw was someone’s post of a crazy, camp-y ad “1 in 5 teenagers will experiment with farming. Know the warning signs of farming.”

Or, as the guy who posted it commented, “I found heirloom seeds in your room. We need to talk.”

and that made me think about my own childhood, where I learned to garden when I was two and my brother was born and they sent me to my grandparents for two months, and my grandmother taught me to garden.

And the next thing I knew, I had written a huge long POEM in response about that part of my life ... and all the crazier garden stuff I’d done since then ...

and I have come back here to tell you my reputation among the heirloom tomato aficionados is TOTALLY RUINED

(yeah: like it wasn’t already)

and it is ALL YOUR FAULT.

So even though I never quite know what to say about something as brief as a dribble, I have come back here to say that good poetry inspires poetry.

Author Reply: Thank you! I am glad you found my dribbles inspiring.

Now I want to see your poem about gardening!

Again, I love this version of the old tale! Yes, I do like this one, and love seeing that Rosie also is able to tell a tale to keep the children enthralled with her words!

Author Reply: I wanted to frame this story a little, to do justice to the original opening about "grandmothers of grandmothers", and I began to wonder, with such a wonderful storyteller as Sam in the hole, how often Rosie herself got the chance to tell stories! So I thought this was a good occasion to try out.

I don't know that it's as charming as the original, but I hope that it's very hobbity!

Such a perfect, succinct description of the cost of victory.

Author Reply: That moment was rather on my mind, as I was just finishing up that chapter for "Mark Reads" in my latest re-read of the books. So the prompt was called at just the right time.

Haiku are not my usual sort of poetry, but I may try more after this...

Another perfectly described losing of a heart when encountering an immortal love. And the title is perfect!

Author Reply: Thanks! As is often the case, the title was the most difficult part of the writing.

Oh, but this is so cute! If there ever was a Hobbitess with true Hobbit sense, it was little Buttercup!

Author Reply: LOL! Yep; she's clearly not a Tookish adventuress. She only tries it out because she thought she must, but it's not something she'd ever try again.

Oh, yes--that so famous encounter! Delightful!

Author Reply: Thanks! Even though I made the Canon Couple card, I wasn't sure I'd be called upon to write some of these pairings that are out of my usual stomping-grounds. But the dribble format makes it a bit simpler...

I'm glad you liked it!

I so LOVE this one, Dreamflower. How wonderful this is! I, too, want to see this portrait!

Author Reply: As I said to Antane-- I'm not sure if my RL talent matches up to Calla's fictional talent (especially when it comes to portraiture) yet I do want to try someday...
