In the Mind's Eye by shirebound |
Last Updated: 5/6/2012 |
The Morgul knife blade used at Weathertop to wound Frodo was enspelled by the Nazgûl, as was the hilt that Aragorn carried with him to Rivendell. At the Ford of Bruinen, the wraith-sorcerer has one chance to activate the spell woven into the hilt, and influence its bearer. Aragorn h/c, somewhat AU, very hobbity (of course!). Characters include Glorfindel, Elrond, Gandalf, Arwen. |

The Ranger and the Hobbit by Cairistiona |
Last Updated: 11/28/2009 |
An AU-ish tale that’s less AU than it is “what if”: what if, as the Dúnedain patrol the region around the Shire, Aragorn has an encounter with an intrepid, resourceful hobbit, one with the same mettle as Bilbo and a similar yen for adventure? And what if Aragorn also has an encounter with some men with less friendly intentions? Tookishness and Rangerliness both abound in this tale of a quiet patrol turned disastrous. 2010 MEFA nominee. |

Lissa asked me to write a followup to Fell Memories for her birthday "drabble" - she gets a series of 12 to mirror the other story.
The story so far: Aragorn, on his way out of Gondor after the Corsair raid, was captured by Nazgul and casually tortured as he was being brought to Dol Guldur. He did not reveal who he was, even though hard pressed. He escaped in a way that, I hope, was reasonable and not superhuman. He sw |

Though Aragorn left Gondor in the triumph of the Corsair defeat saying he planned to spend his time working against the enemy, he arrived at Lothlorien less than three months later 'on his way to Rivendell' and 'weary'. Would such a short time in the Wild 'weary' the intrepid Ranger, or did something much more drastic occur during the 'perils on the dark confines of Mordor"?
